Young Hydro entrepreneur Sushil Pokharel has been appointed as the president of Rotary Club of Kathmandu North-East for Rota year 2019/2020.
Pokhreal as a promoter of 57.3 MW Myagdi Khola Hydro Power project in Myagdi District, it has been already sign the power purchase agreement (PPA) with Nepal Electricity Authority last year and it is going to construct soon.
Hydro Village Pvt. Ltd. the promoter company of the project trying to attract foreign and Non Residential Nepalese (NRN) Association investment for equity portion. Pokharel has been working for that as a Chief Executive Officer of the company.
Speaking at the event, Pokharel expressed commitment to dedicate his tenure to develop hydro power as well as leadership skill of fellow members, to increase access to education and health across the country.
Increasing access to health and education services is an important element for any strategy to alleviate poverty and reduce inequality, he said.
Pokharel assumed his position at a special ceremony organized in the capital last week. Among various projects mainly the education and health sector, Rotary Club of Kathmandu North East is building girls toilet in the school of Dhading and Nuwakot. Millions of children around the world do not have access to decent toilets at school, putting girls education in particular at risk.
